Every year, Zeon’s Specialty Plastics Laboratory exhibits a light experiment at the Summer Vacation Free Research Week organized by the City of Kawasaki, and it is well received by elementary school students and their parents.

The “Kokoro no Gekijo (Theater of the Heart)” Children’s Theater Program is a nationwide initiative organized by the Japan Performing Arts Foundation and the Shiki Theatre Company, with support from Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs. The program invites schoolchildren to attend family musicals performed by the Shiki Theatre Company with the aim of conveying important values—such as respect for life, compassion for others, and the joy of mutual trust—through the performing arts. Since FY2026, Zeon has sponsored performances in the Kanto region and in Toyama, Okayama, and Yamaguchi prefectures, primarily in areas where the Company has business sites. By giving local children opportunities to experience live theater and to be moved and learn from it, we help foster rich sensitivity, imagination, and emotional growth in the next generation.

Zeon Corporation continued its special sponsorship of the Grand Contest on Chemistry for High School Students, hosted by Shibaura Institute of Technology, to support the independent research activities of high school and technical college students. Since its launch in 2004, the contest has provided students from across Japan with an opportunity to present the results of their research and learning activities, while fostering scientific curiosity and creativity and helping develop the next generation of scientists and researchers. At the final round, 115 teams from across Japan that had passed the document screening gave poster and oral presentations, with total attendance exceeding 900. As a sponsoring company, Zeon has established the Zeon Corporation Challenge Award, selected on its own distinctive criteria, and presents it to the team that shows the boldest thinking and the most self-directed approach to research, thereby providing continuing support for developing the next generation.

Zeon Chemicals L.P., a U.S. Group company, donated to the Marine Biology Club at Oldham County High School in Kentucky. Through this initiative, Zeon Chemicals L.P. supports field-based learning opportunities that help students deepen their understanding of aquatic life and ecosystems, while fostering awareness of the importance of biodiversity through firsthand experiences in the natural environment.

To mark National Children’s Day 2026, Zeon Chemicals Thailand donated educational supplies and other items to students at Ban Nong Phab School in Rayong Province, Thailand. Through this initiative, the company provides learning opportunities and brings smiles to children who will shape the future of the local community, while supporting their motivation to learn.

During the summer vacation we held a science workshop for employees’ children at our head office. The workshop was designed to give participants the opportunity to experience the excitement of science and experimentation while deepening their understanding of energy and environmental issues. Planned by the Energy Materials Division in collaboration with partner companies, the hands-on program featured batteries and electric vehicles as its main themes. Through learning and practical experience, the workshop provided an opportunity to help nurture the next generation.

At each plant, Zeon participates in community dialogue meetings organized by the Responsible Care Council and holds plant tours for local governments and residents. Through these activities, we share information on environmental improvements, process safety, and disaster prevention measures and exchange views with stakeholders. By helping local communities better understand our business activities and incorporating their opinions and requests into daily operations and continuous improvement, we aim to build relationships of trust and contribute to safe and secure communities.

At the Tokuyama Plant, employees participate in the Tokuyama Port Promotion Cutter Boat Race, organized by the Shunan Convention and Visitors Association and other organizations, as part of efforts to strengthen ties with the local community. Held at Tokuyama Port, this regular community event brings together teams from companies and organizations to race cutter boats against the clock. By participating in the event, employees deepen their connections with the local community, contributing to stronger community relationships and regional revitalization.

Zeon Chemicals L.P. participates in the Bed Races, a charity event organized by the Kentucky Derby Foundation. Through activities such as raffles, games, and lunch sales, employees raise funds that are donated to local charitable organizations, contributing to community revitalization and the development of future generations.

Zeon Chemicals Thailand supported the provision of lunch at the Camillian Foundation, which provides social welfare and healthcare services. By helping prepare and distribute meals, employees put the Company’s commitment to supporting the local community into practice while strengthening their community ties.

Zeon Chemicals L.P. supported the renovation of an accessible ramp at the Old Louisville Senior Center to provide safer access for people with disabilities and older adults. Located in a low-income community, the center serves many senior citizens. Through this initiative, Zeon Chemicals L.P. contributed to improving the facility’s convenience and to supporting local residents.

The Takaoka Plant supports the objectives of the Food Action Nippon campaign through the “Eat and Support!” initiative, which assists areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Food Action Nippon is a public-private initiative that promotes the consumption of domestically produced agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and helps pass Japan’s food culture on to future generations. By regularly serving ingredients sourced from affected areas in its employee cafeteria every month, the plant gives employees ongoing opportunities to contribute to reconstruction through their daily activities.

We provided food, drinking water, and daily necessities to people affected by flooding in southern Thailand, supporting their recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Zeon Chemicals L.P. employees prepared and served 50 lunches for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Louisville. The facility provides accommodations free of charge for children receiving medical treatment and their families. Through this initiative, Zeon Chemicals L.P. contributed to supporting families and strengthening community welfare.

Zeon Chemicals L.P. sponsors the Sisters Helping Sisters (SHS) Fishing Tournament. SHS provides financial assistance for medical and living expenses to women battling breast cancer and their families. Through its sponsorship of this event, Zeon Chemicals L.P. helps ease the burden of treatment while supporting community welfare.

The Tokuyama Plant and Zeon Yamaguchi Co., Ltd. participate in the TABLE FOR TWO and CUP FOR TWO programs. TABLE FOR TWO funds school meals for children in developing countries through purchases of eligible menu items. CUP FOR TWO generates donations through purchases from vending machines and retail shops. Since TABLE FOR TWO was launched in 2022, the two sites have provided the equivalent of 8,000 school meals in total, and the program continues as an ongoing employee-participation social contribution initiative.

Zeon Chemicals L.P. collaborates with KORT, a U.S.-based healthcare organization, to provide employees with wellness coaching and movement assessments. Using AI-based analysis, the program offers recommendations to reduce physical strain and prevent injuries, supporting a safe and healthy workplace.

Zeon Chemicals Thailand provided mobile medical services at Wat Chak Luk Ya School in Rayong Province in collaboration with local partners. The services included health checkups, dental care, nutritional guidance, and animal vaccinations, helping improve local residents’ quality of life.
