The Takaoka Plant is located at the foot of Mount Futagami,
where the splendor of the four seasons inspired many
of the poems by Otomo No Yakamochi in his ancient Japanese
anthology Manyo-shu. The
plant launched its operation in 1956 as a production
site for vinyl chloride and it now produces photoresists,
which are electronic materials; Zetpol, a special synthetic
rubber based on our exclusive technology; and ZEORORA,
the next-generation fluorine solvent.
The site includes plants belonging to ZEON Medical Inc.
and Optes, Inc., that launched operations in 1990 and
2001, respectively. ZEON Medical Inc.'s Takaoka Plant
produces various catheters for medical products, while
the Optes plant produces COP optical films and plastic
lenses.
The Takaoka Plant is rapidly evolving as a production
site for ZEON's new businesses and provides useful products
for customers under ZEON's policies of contributing
to society, unique technologies, and engagement of and
by all employees.
