The Kawasaki Plant, located in the Kawasaki Petrochemical
Complex, started Japan's first mass-production of synthetic
rubber in July 1959. For over 40 years, the plant has
produced outstanding oil-resistant, heat-resistant specialty
rubber for safety-critical automobile parts including
belts and hoses, and synthetic latex used as the binder
for coated paper and carpets as well as for work gloves
and cosmetic puffs. Annual production capacity has grown
from 4,000 tons to 100,000 tons. True to its principle,
the Plant represents a level of advanced operation appropriate
to its metropolitan setting by producing excellent quality
product lines through its original technology.
The Kawasaki Plant has acquired ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications,
and will continue to provide useful products with due
consideration for environmental preservation and safety
as well as ongoing quality improvements.
