High-Performance Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber

High-Performance hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR), which has been developed by Zeon Corporation, contains a cure site in the polymer chain. The cross-linking density of these HNBR polymers can be controlled by the amount of this cure site regardless of the saturation level. As a result high cross-link density can be obtained with significant benefits in the compression set performance, especially in thin cross-sectioned articles such as O-rings, seals and gaskets, of these HNBR polymers along with the excellent heat resistance of a highly saturated polymer.

High Performance HNBR polymers also have low heat build up and excellent abrasion resistance. It can be used in dynamic applications such as bearing, lip seals, rollers and belts.

These polymers do not sacrifice compressive modulus with increasing temperature and demonstrate stable physical properties at elevated temperatures. . This can be advantageous in maintaining sealing force or even reducing the initial modulus / sealing pressure of parts.
