Mexico (June 6, 2017) Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Zeon Corporation, has begun official operation of a new powder slush plant in Las Colinas Industrial Park of San Luis Potosi City, Mexico.

The powder slush compound based on polyvinyl chloride resin (PVC/PSC) manufactured at the new plant offers superior design, molding, and processing capabilities at a reasonable cost. This material is popularly used as a skin material for seamless air bag modules by Japanese, European, and US automakers. Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. hopes the new plant’s advanced R&D facilities will lead to next-generation skin materials that have even more advanced applications.

This is the third powder slush plant that Zeon Kasei Co., Ltd. has opened. Following closely on the heels of successful plants in Japan and China, Las Colinas Industrial Park location was chosen due to its easy access to Japanese and European automakers in the Mexican and North American markets. Due to growing demand for product, Zeon Kasei has also started to focus on European market, building a global network that contributes globally to an ever-expanding automobile industry.
