Zeon Corporation (Zeon) (President: Kimiaki Tanaka) will build new facility for hydrogenation for their petroleum resin (Quintone®) based on their own technology at the Mizushima Plant in Okayama Prefecture, Japan.

Quintone® has been used for hot melt adhesives for sanitary items such as diapers.

The hydrogenated resin from the facility is expected to meet the growth of sanitary products market as well as the growing need for odor reduction in these items. In addition, the resin may be used in other applications, such as in insulation tape for automobiles and specialized tapes that low-odor, low-VOC properties are required.

Construction starts in January 2017, with operations scheduled to commence in July 2017.
