ZEON CORPORATION (President: Kimiaki Tanaka) has completed construction of a plant for diagonally -stretched retardation film in Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture, Japan.

ZEON has been applying its proprietary technology to develop and produce the world’s first diagonally -stretched retardation film, which is being used for applications such as a viewing angle enhancer and anti-reflective protective film in small- to medium-sized liquid crystal displays. The latest expansion in production capacity is intended to meet increasing demand in the market for small- to medium-sized flat panel displays. The new plant in Tsuruga City is ZEON’s third production base for the film after the Takaoka and Himi plants in Toyama Prefecture.

ZEON’s operational production facilities for diagonally -stretched retardation film in Toyama Prefecture have a combined annual production capacity of 15 million m2. Following the start of operations at the new plant, our annual production capacity will increase to 25 million m2.
