Completion Ceremony of New Zetpol® HNBR Production Line in Kawasaki, Japan for High-Performance Zetpol®Print Page

ZEON CORPORATION (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Naozumi Furukawa) has completed its new Zetpol® production line in Kawasaki plant which will produce High-Performance Zetpol®,(hereinafter referred to as "HP Zetpol®"), and held a completion ceremony on August 22, 2012.

HP Zetpol® has been developed to meet the growing demand from the automotive industry for low emissions and long service life and has superior compression set properties, heat build-up resistance in dynamic applications, and excellent abrasion resistance while maintaining excellent mechanical properties and chemical stability. HP Zetpol® has improved heat resistance of 10°C to 15°C versus standard HNBR elastomers and can prolong the life of seals and gaskets used in engine and power transmission areas. Multiple grades of HP-Zetpol® will be offered to meet specific needs of various applications.

The new facility will also produce Zetpol® latex for use in coating glass cord and fabric.
