Tokyo, JAPAN . March 1st, 2011 .ZEON CORPORATION (Naozumi Furukawa, President & CEO) has announced the construction of a new Zetpol® production line at their Kawasaki plant.
ZEON prepared the ground for the new Zetpol® production line at their Kawasaki plant two years ago, however as a result of the decline in the global business environment the construction was postponed. Now the market's evaluation of the new Zetpol® products is progressing and demands are getting stronger, the decision has been given to start construction of the new Zetpol® production line.
The new Zetpol® products have considerable freedom of polymer design through newly-developed base rubber and can fit market demands in a wide range of advanced polymer functions.
Global concerns for environmental protection are growing day by day. The regulations for automotive energy saving and carbon dioxide emission will be more severe in the future. In these circumstances the global automotive market will move forward to more fuel efficient systems. The longer life of specialty rubber parts is regarded as one of the most important functions, having strong resistance to oil, fuel and heat. The functional rubber parts market will expand accordingly.
With their new technology, ZEON has succeeded in developing and commercializing the world's first new Zetpol® products which have highly improved compression set resistance whilst maintaining oil or heat resistance of existing Zetpol® products. The sampling of new Zetpol® products has already started and positive feed-back has been received, especially from market sectors such as automotive gaskets, seals in air induction systems and in gearbox sealing applications.
