On January 23 2008, ZEON Corporation and its European subsidiaries, ZEON Europe GmbH, ZEON Chemicals Europe Ltd. (collectively as "ZEON") received a notice of decision from the European Commission with respect to an allegation of infringement of competition law in the NBR (acrylonitrile butadiene rubber) market in Europe during a certain period between 2000 and 2002.
The European Commission by its decision imposed a fine of 5.36 million Euro (approximately 840 million Yen) on ZEON.
ZEON will study the contents in detail after receiving the full text of the decision and will take an appropriate action in due course.
