ZEON Corporation and Shin Dai-Ichi Vinyl Corporation (President: Nobutada Maeda) have agreed to close manufacturing the specialty PVC resins on consignment and to crease its production at ZEON's Takaoka plant as of March 31, 2008.

The ownership of the facilities and equipment for specialty PVC resins at Takaoka plant belongs to Shin Dai-Ichi Vinyl Corporation which will consolidate all the production at Takaoka to the Ehime plant with an aim to further strengthen competitiveness of the business in the future.

Both ZEON Corporation and its wholly owned subsidiary, Optes Inc. have been steadily growing the specialty materials business including electronic materials, optical films, etc. based on Takaoka plant and aim to promote more effective use of such vacant premise for these new businesses.
