ZEON Logistical Materials Co., Ltd. starts to sell a newly developed Container for Large-size Canister's transportation
April 18, 2005
Sealed canisters made of stainless steel or PE are used to store liquids such as chemicals for semiconductors and liquid crystals, as well as pharmaceuticals, products for which cleanness is important. ZEON Logistical Materials has been selling containers for small-sized canisters in a range of 10 to 20 liters. In view of a strong market demand for large-size canisters, the company has developed the new container.
Canisters are conventionally transported by individually packing them in corrugated cardboard or using meshed steel boxes. However, these methods have problems :- exposing canisters at the risk of damage from shock, exposing them to contamination from dust or corrugated cardboard debris, and additional costs for the disposal of corrugated cardboard after use. This new container called STEC® is a simple, sealed, returnable container and solves these problems. All sides of STEC are covered with hard board and the container is designed to resist external shock and prevent the entry of foreign dust particles into the canisters. The company also provides a custom design container that allows users to easily pack the exact number of canisters they want in order to improve loading efficiency at work sites.
Features of containers for transporting canisters:
(1)The exterior is covered with hard board and the interior is protected by cushion materials. Containers are consequently shock-resistant and can be shipped without damaging the canisters.
(2)Custom designed containers are available to accommodate a variety of canister sizes in the range of 10, 20, 40 and 100 liters. Canisters can be packed in one lot, improving packing efficiency.
(3)Since the containers can be stacked for storage and folded when empty, less storage space is required, regardless of whether the containers are empty or filled.
(4)Even delicate products that require low temperatures can be transported using these containers by combining thermal insulation materials and cooling agents like dry ice. The containers can be used to transport small numbers of canisters that are not enough to merit the use of a refrigerated container vehicle or for rush shipments when a refrigerated container is not available.
