Company Policy (Executive Message)

  • President Masanori Sakurai President Masanori Sakurai

RIM molding using dicyclopentadiene is an original technology for producing large molded parts that saves resources and energy, and with applications such as septic tanks for water purification, the business directly links to improving the environment.
In addition to aiming to improve the global environment through expansion of RIM moldings, with “provision of environmentally friendly molding compounding and liquid-molded products” as a key theme, RIMTEC contributes to employment generation in production contractors and customers and activation of local communities.

Safety Initiatives

Safety First! In order for every employee to take responsibility and act to achieve zero accidents and disasters, RIMTEC not only acts internally, but cooperates closely with contractors and customers in Japan and overseas.
RIMTEC and Telene S.A.S have achieved zero accidents and disasters for seven years consecutively.

[Concrete efforts]
1. Production quality meetings with production contractors (every month)
We implement production status, quality management status, chemical substance regulatory compliance and accident education.

2. Mutual diagnosis of production contractors (twice a year)
RIMTEC research laboratory, Zeon Rim, production contractors jointly perform mutual diagnostic activities for 5S and safety.

3. Customer safety education (once a year)

  • Distribute safety education documents to all customers
  • Visit to give guidance to new customers
4. Promotion of culture development (twice a year)
Since fiscal 2015, production contractors and employees have worked to create an environment with better dialogue. We will continue this activity in the future and update the zero accident zero disaster record.

Efforts to Reduce Environmental Impact

  • Promote thermal recycling of waste plastic.
  • Make efforts to reduce the environmental impact of substances in products based on the regulations in each country.
[Concrete efforts]
1. Reducing emissions from industrial waste
We actively developed a thermal recycling processing route for waste plastic and were able to limit the amount of waste going to landfill to around 10% of the previous amount.
2. Compliance with national laws and regulations
We completed work to switch chemical substances that were at risk of becoming registered as substances of very high concern in the future to safe substances.
Our RIM molded products cleared the EU septic tank water quality standard in fiscal 2014 and acquired the CE Marking* in fiscal 2015. We will provide septic tanks using our RIM molded products in the EU.

*CE Marking
To display the standard conformity mark (CE Mark) on specified products sold in the EU. The CE Marking indicates that the product meets the essential requirements defined in the rules and regulations for that field.
