Inaugurated as an independent processed products division of Zeon Corporation in 1981

[Business content]
Manufacture and sales of powder slush compounds*, packaging materials, building materials, various films, deodorants, and logistics materials, etc.
* Powder slush compounds: Thin powder compounds for making films with molds

[Status in recent years]
As an overseas base for powder slush compound manufacturing, the Mexico plant is under construction, following China (operations planned to start in April 2017).

With the base of stable and safe production and health, we will thoroughly implement compliance and achieve the following priority issues

  1. We will further advance the globalization of the business and complete the Mexico powder slush compound plant construction on time.
  2. We will accelerate R&D on powder slush compounds and adsorption sheets and conduct development of high thermally conductive sheets to prepare for future leaps.
  3. We will come together as a company to implement quality stabilization and business innovation based on “ visualization.”


Safety Initiatives

We will continue to have zero disasters
 
[Concrete efforts]
The Ibaraki plant achieved 1 million hours with no serious disasters in 2015 and the Yamaguchi plant achieved it in 2014. In order to continue zero disasters, we will run the safety PDCA cycle with plant safety initiatives and safety audits.

Efforts to Reduce Environmental Impact

[Policy]
Reduction of specific energy consumption and industrial waste.
 
[Concrete efforts]
We are implementing energy-saving activities across the company such as the introduction of LEDs for illumination and hybrid cars.
Our efforts for reduction of industrial waste and zero landfill waste have continued since 2011.

Quality Assurance Efforts

[Policy]

  1. We will securely implement processes from product design to manufacturing transition examinations
  2. We will review the production process quality management system
  3. We will review the quality management system to prevent the outflow of non-conforming materials

In fiscal 2015, we carried out improvements in line with the policy and were able to prevent the outflow of defective products.

We will contribute to the sustainable development of society and the global environment through our corporate activities.

[Concrete efforts]
1.Joso City flood relief activities
We carried out the following activities in response to the large flood damage that occurred in the Joso City area next to Ibaraki Zeon Kasei (Bando City) on September 10, 2015.

  • Participation in reconstruction assistance activities through the Joso City Volunteer Center
    Ibaraki Zeon Kasei employees participated in volunteering to remove debris from affected households, and have regularly participated since then.
  • Provision of air fresheners to shelters
    We delivered around 350 air fresheners that contain Zeon Kasei deodorants to the Mitsukaido gymnasium evacuation site with cooperation of the selling agencies Daiichi Sekken and Toyotsu Chemiplas.

2 Participation in “Tokyo Station Regional Joint Patrol”
The Zeon Kasei Head Office has been participating in the joint patrol of the area surrounding Tokyo Station since November 2012 as a Zeon Group initiative. In fiscal 2015 we participated twice and picked up trash from around Tokyo Station.
