ZEON has maintained a firm commitment to quality assurance under the guidance of its basic policy that places top priority on quality, and has been recognized for this commitment through a variety of awards, including the Total Productive Maintenance Prize for all company plants in 1982 and the Deming Prize for TQC for the entire company in 1985. In 1995, all plants completed ISO 9002 registration, the international standard for quality management system. By 2003, conversion to ISO9001: 2008 had been completed in all plants. The Quality Management System registration involves examination by an independent qualified auditor to verify that a company provides manufactured goods, merchandise, and services with reliably excellent quality and safety, and that the company has established an effective quality assurance system that contributes to society. When a company is audited and recommended by an independent qualified auditor, it can be registered. By acquiring the Quality Management System registration, ZEON has firmly established an international quality assurance system.
