ZEONOR®, is used in such products as light guide plates and automotive parts, utilizing properties such as high transparency, transferring, and high heat resistance.

Major properties

(1)Low water absorption >> Extremely low water absorption (Less than 0.01% per 24 hours) allows for excellent dimensional stability even under high humidity conditions..
(2)High transparency 92% in visible range 400-800nm.
(3)Low specific gravity >> Specific gravity of is 1.01, lower weight vs lighter than other conventional plastics.
(4)High heat resistance Glass transition temperature range of 100–163℃ allows selection of most suitable grade for specific needs.
(5)High flowability >> Excels in transferring property. Especially, ZEONOR 1060R exhibits Mt = 60, excels in thin molding.
(6)High purity / Ultra-low amount of out-gassing >> A very clean resin with extremely few impurities, suitable for semiconductor etc.
(7) High strength Resists drop tests for feeding bottles without breaking.
(8)Excellent moisture barrier >> Can be utilized as either the drug contact (inner) layer or as the middle layer for enhanced moisture barrier.

ZEONOR® can be utilized as light guide parts, mirrors in optical components due to its ultra-low moisture absorption, superior optical properties and good mold ability.

Medical packaging and Bio-Diagnostic application

ZEONOR® allows for high moisture barrier, high purity flexible packaging for medical and pharmaceutical applications.

Silicon wafers Transport & Storage

ZEONOR® is an ideal resin for use in 300mm and 450mm FOSB and FOUP containers due to its ultra low amount of out-gassing, Low water-vapor transmission rate // Excellent moisture barrier and transparent for easy inspection.

Automotive parts

ZEONOR® can be utilized in Automotive headlamp due to its low specific gravity and high heat resistance (Up to 160C).

PL(Product Liability) Notes

  1. Please observe the following precautions for the storage and use of the product and items molded from the product.
    (1) Keep away from fire, since ZEONOR® is combustible.
    (2) Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and high-energy light, which can make ZEONOR® discoloration.
    (3) Do not use or expose to temperatures over heat distortion temperature, ZEONOR® may discolor, deform, or melt.
    (4) Avoid exposure to high temperature for a long time, which can distort ZEONOR®.
    (5) Do not use under high heat temperature and near heat source, ZEONOR® may emit smoke or ignite.
    (6) Do not use near high-energy light source, ZEONOR® may emit smoke or ignite due to heat generation by light absorption.
    (7) Improper molding conditions or use with a poorly designed mold may induce solvent cracking through residual stress.
    (8) Do not use for parts that are subject to continuing load (snap fit insert molded products, screw stops, etc.), the material may crack.
    (9) Do not expose to the following solvents and liquids which may cause ZEONOR® to liquefy or swell.
     ・Aromatic solvents such as benzene, toluene, etc.
     ・Chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents, including dichloromethane,carbon tetrachloride, etc.
     ・Animal、Vegetable and mineral oils and greases.
     ・Hydrocarbon solvents such as n-Hexane, cyclohexane and ligroin, etc.
     ・Ethers such as diethylether, etc.
     ・Ketones such as cyclohexane, etc.
     ・Prior to use test other materials and liquids containing long-chain alkyl groups in their
       structure prior to use.
    (10) Test ZEONOR® under the harshest conditions to be encountered to determine the safety and suitability of the materials prior to use.

  2. Contact ZEON CORPORATION before utilizing ZEONOR® in medical care products, foods or toys.
